While she held this position she also served as Secretary of IMO's Legal Committee and for a time also as IMO's Assistant Secretary-General. She was previously Assistant Secretary in the Office of International Law at the Federal Attorney-General's Department in Canberra. As textbooks go , this one is easy to read and understand. It's not dry or overly boring. I'm assuming if you're purchasing this it's a requirement. It could be worse, the longer edition is quite heavy and drawn out. 4 stars because there is no e-version and the web help (for an extra$15) Is useless.

Love amazons textbook rental program! We have saved so much money! This book arrived in great condition and was super easy to return when we were finished with the prepaid labels!

A very easy to read book that breaks down economic concepts into easy to understand pieces and demonstrate them with clear examples. Worthy buy for intro to economic students.

Why is it that women seem to make better motorcycle travel writers than men? Carla King, Lois Pryce, and Karen Larsen have produced some of the best motorcycle travel books out there. King's story is particularly good because she knows her way around the mechanics of her bike. She writes, not only about herself, the places she visits, the people she meets, and the riding experience--but also about the machine. For many m/c travel writers, a bike is just a transportation tool. But for some of us, its a companion too. For King it was often an aggravating companion, but her affection for this (at the time) untried brand comes through. Her style is sure and spare, and her observations have just the right amount of color. So why only 4 stars? It's way too short! I think it is a distillation of an on the road blog, which I have not seen. But I was hungry for more--all the way through

I enjoyed reading about her adventure. Some of her breakdowns reminded me of somethings that happened to me. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to know. What could happen on a road trip. I really enjoyed it.

Proof reading is horrible . Endless grammatical errors . Not a very interesting read unless you like reading of a liberals exploits of trying to get laid and complaining about our countries borders while riding a motorcycle. Would not recommend if your really looking for something interesting about motorcycles 🏍 skip this one .

Good book with an insider view to the early Russian Ural motorcycle and making a long trip on it with factory assistance. Carla does a good job of keeping the book flow moving along, a fun read for adventure minded folks. Listened to Carla speak at the USSA sidecar rally at Lake Tahoe.

Ms. King is an excellent writer and apparently knows her motorcycles as well. I purchased this book from her at a motorcycle event not long after it first came out and loaned it to someone who enjoyed it enough not to return it. So I bought it again, read it again and it was well worth it.

Carla has done a great job with this story. Well written, good story, honest, interesting, fun, enjoyable. I love travel and road stories (especially motorcycle journeys). When I pick one up, I want it to be just like this one. So often non-fiction road stories can be a bore or poorly executed. Not so, Carla King's American Borders. I would have given this 5 stars if it hadn't been for several poorly formatted places in the Kindle edition of this book. It's annoying to be going along and enjoying the book so much, then to have formatting errors wonder if you'd missed a passage or a page or ? If this gets fixed, I will gladly give it 5 stars.Good work, Carla.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read of one woman's distributor "sponsored" trip around the U.S. as a type of "shake down" of a Ural w/ sidecar. Both her descriptions of the ride, locations and people, as well as the challenges of frequent breakdowns and ways of dealing with them, with some support from the distributor were an enjoyable read (tho not some good experiences for her) and informative. Her route started in CA, went N, and accross S Canada and N US, then down the E and accross the S US, back to CA. It was 2937 Kindle pages long. Well worth it -- I recommend it.

I first read American Borders when it was on Carla's website, before it became a book. It was a great read and I never forgot it. Now that I've ridden around the country myself it carries a whole new attraction for me. If you want a well written and true account of what it's like to ride around the United States, this is the book for you. Sometimes it's hard to remember that the people she meets are real people, not characters in a novel they're so clearly portrayed. It's an insightful, well-written book about people more than motorcycling, which is its greatest charm.

This calendar offers great quilts, blocks, and inspiration. They have made many improvements since they first started putting this out. The only thing that I'd like to see added is actual templates for applique blocks.

Not as much instruction with the patterns as I had hoped but not bad for a calendar

Enjoyed this calendar a lot and made some of the quilt blocks for it. Very versatile.

It is an inspirational piece to have on my kitchen counter with a new pattern every day.

I was given the 2006 version of this product by an Aunt and loved it. This year I was talking to a Quilt Buddy who enjoyed this product in the past so I surprised her with the 2008 version. She enjoys it and has it displayed on her desk at work it sure brightens up her day as she pulls up the new day's block. I bought one for myself also. It is fun to see what new block each day brings and it is a wonderful source of inspiration to help get out of your comfort zone of block making and try new blocks and techniques! There are great instructions and helpful hints and tips to help any Quilter advance their Quiltmaking skills.

This quilting block and pattern-a-day calendar for 2007 was a Christmas gift. When 2008 rolled around and the 2008 version was not under the Christmas tree, I missed it so much I had to buy it myself. There are many quilt patterns for both small and large quilts, one block on each day's page. So many ideas for designing original quilts. If you're a quilter (beginner or advanced) you'll surely enjoy studying the blocks and letting your imagination take over!

I purchased this for my sister, a quilter for many years. She absolutely adored it. Said it was the perfect gift. Full for fantastic ideas & reminders of past blocks. The color photos are absolutely beautiful.

There are not many travel books on Puebla so I was very excited to find this one! I will be travelling there in a few months to visit my in-laws and really wanted a book about living in Puebla - not a book with tourist attractions. This book fit the bill. It is an older publication but it has given me alot of information to help me plan my visit to Puebla. According to my in-laws, most of the information I have told them from the book is correct.

This book was very useful for our recent visit to Puebla and Mexico City. We used it mostly for Puebla, because there aren't many travel books for that city. It was invaluable for helping us plan our three days in Puebla. It was also helpful for Mexico City, but we used the Rough Guide more there.

The guide book came in handy in Puebla. It would be even better if it were updated a bit more frequently. Inspite of being a bit dated, it was very useful to have around.

This was the only English guide we could find for Puebla and Cuernavaca, even though it's a bit older. It's well organized and we used it extensively on our vacation.

Pretty good. Trip advisor is often more accurate

The guide is quite personal and more like a trip report of the authors experiences. For a guide focused on only three areas it was lacking in detail. There are much better options out there

it's nice to have a travel description of a small area in Mexico. It is such a big country thatan all inclusive book doesn't cut it. This is the only book I have found for Puebla and Cuernavaca.Unfortunately, it is out of date.

This guide has a wealth of info on hotels, restaurants and sights in the three cities in Central Mexico covered therein (Mexico City, Puebla, and Cuernavaca). Having just returned from all three cities (and having relied to a large extent on the author's suggestions for these cities), I would put this guide right next to the Michelin Green Guide as an essential item to consult and take along for a trip to this part of Mexico. Unlike many, this guide did not let us down in any respect. Everything the author said seemed right on target as far as our experience provided a "test." Well worth the price.

I love this Ukraine travel guide! I love the writing style – tones of useful information - like attractions/locations/tips/local legends/hotels/restaurants - spiced with a bit of humor. I have found out a lot about Ukraine and, honestly, I did not know it`s so cheap in terms of food and transportation. The book is loaded with pictures which definitely will make you want to pack your bag and visit Ukraine (I myself fell into this trap)The book is as informative as entertaining. I highly recommend it

Very very disappointing - no page numbers and no map

Written by the very talented Iryna Tverda, this is a REAL travel guide written by a REAL Ukrainian. It talks about the big cities of Kiev and Odessa, as well as the countryside. It’s pretty cool to have a place described to you by a person that is actually from there. A lot of travel guides are written by people that don’t even live in the country they are writing about so this is refreshing. If you’re planning on traveling to Ukraine you are going to want to get this book FOR SURE!

This was a fun and fascinating look at the best places to travel in the Ukraine.I enjoyed it!Ross Pipkin was a great narrator.I was given this book by the narrator,author or publisher free for an honest review.
