this book is not that great. It doesn't explain things very well and its riddled with errors. I had this book for Numerical Analysis and numerous times my teacher had to inform me that the book was actually wrong.... so long ago though. Couldn't possibly remember exactly what and I suppose its possible that those mistakes were fixed in later versions. Not sure, but for me it wasn't the greatest tool for learning.

I bought the book when I was a master student at a math department. I took Numerical Analysis I and II in undergraduate. But this book was a little higher and difficult at the beginning. But once I used to it, I like it. And the algorithms are very useful if you are a Matlab user. You can directly write the codes from pseudo-codes into Matlab. The book has a little bit more proofs than you can find in any other Numerical Analysis book. But the reader can easily grasp them in a few readings...After all, I am very glad that I know this book, and it will be always a nice reference book for me in the future as well.

Bought this as a textbook for my class. The book is pretty well-organized and easy to read. I like it. I was reading some other books of Numerical Analysis, and they are pretty old, maybe that's why they are less organized than this one.

If you are a graduate student then this book might appeal to you. But if you are actually trying to use the book for some purposeful end, it will probably disappoint.The first problem is that it uses lots and lots of mathematical symbols, as well as plenty of abstruse matrix transformations. If you are studying for your PhD then you probably will have no trouble.The next problem is that the book is pretty much page after page of solid proofs. The proofs are essentially meaningless; they are presented without context and are rarely used for anything except building other proofs. In the places where numerical examples are presented, they are so brief and cryptic as to be unintelligible.Believe it or not, the same authors wrote another book, Numerical Mathematics and Computing - it covers almost exactly the same material, but in a more down-to-earth way. If you are determined to read Numerical Analysis, then I would highly recommend that you read the other book first. Instead of having copious proofs, the other book spends its time reviewing the mathematical methods required to apply the material, as well as reviewing the notation.

So far I am very impressed with the book. I have been able to go find a problem in the book and it easily walks you through what you need to do. I have been looking into parts of the programing I have never been to before. For computer geeks this book probably is not as beneficial, but then the book wasn't intended for them. I have more work to do on my computer using this book, but I was able to fix some of my problems. My biggest problem is having the time to give to it. Unfortunately that did not come with the book.

An amazing PC trouble shooting book for lay computer gurus and may also be useful to computer techs and gurus alike! Dan Gookin, you should review this book to include latest software development changes covering window 8.1 and 10 and so on ! All in all I like Dan's non booring non tech langua franca that he pleasurebly use to unvail PC trblshooting issues!

Being a self taught novice I am very impressed with the book. It’s very logically arranged…well written for me.

Using this book as a basic guide, I managed to change out the power supply to an older computer; thankfully I remembered not to unplug any interior connections on the bad part till I had figured out which ones from the new part would work. I'm still working thru chapter by chapter trying to get my pc to go faster but I think I've just overloaded it with stuff. Now to determine which 'stuff' to delete... The book is helpful and I do recommend it to non-techies.

I brought 15 of these for my career and tech class that I teach in computer repair. These high school students found the language very easy to read. The layout of the book makes it easy to move among different chapters out of order and still understand the concepts and skills taught. I haven't found such a good book and valued deal anywhere else on the internet.

This is a good general book for understanding PC's and would be very informative for most readers. But its of limited use if you have a problem. The general benefit is understanding how the computer works. I don't agree with the author's pro Windows 10 view. Windows 10 in itself, with its infamous "updates" is a major source of PC problems; at least it was for me.

If you already knew a lot about computer issues it might be okay.

I've used this book again and again since I've received it. It has certainly helped me and I don't have to call someone else to solve my computer problems. I heartily recommend this to anyone who needs help when the computer misbehaves.

I would have given this volume 5 stars, except that there are different editions. I thought, from the photo, I was getting the edition I have home from the library, but I received an earlier edition with only about a third of the songs in the 4th edition. I do like the selection of this earlier edition, but if you have your heart set on the 4th edition, you could be in for a disappointment. Maybe best to check with vendor to make certain you are getting the songs you actually want.Otherwise, the piano music itself is very accessible for intermediate level players, and the arrangements are nice, not boring, in the main. It is the quality I have come to trust with Hal Leonard publications. If you get a newer condition book, expect to take some time to break it in. It's a large book, and thus can have trouble staying open. At least, my older, more used edition is already broken in enough to stay open pretty well, so my surprise has its advantages.4/3/2018 UPDATE: I have contacted the vendor about this mix-up in editions. I was told he used ISBN, but that info wasn't on the initial offering, and neither I nor the vendor knows if all editions use the same ISBN. The edition I received has no copyright or publication info anywhere, only the ISBN on the cover. So contacting the vendor to get a specific edition is probably pretty important.As others have noted, if you're younger than say 50 the earlier editions will not have much you are acquainted with. Just for reference, I'm 76, and have found a lot of my favorites here, and some nice new ones too. These arrangements accommodate my playing, which is now limited by old eyes, and a muscle weakening disease. I was classically trained, taught piano, and some organ, for many years, and this level accommodates me in my present condition very nicely. It definitely is beyond the 'easy' or beginner level, but could be kinda boring for advanced and more creative players. The note size in this earlier edition is smaller than the 4th edition.

Well, the picture of the product, like the one on this page, led me to believe that I was getting the 4th edition. Actually even the 3rd edition I would have made me happy. I received the 1st edition. My main goal was to get one of the editions that had the song "Mona Lisa" in it as it was Jane's arrangement with which one could follow along on her YouTube video of the song. This being said however, it would still be a great deal for someone who did not have the same unique concern as myself. That is, it contained 150 great songs and was in beautiful condition just as was described.

All I can say is, "WOW!!!" I received this book yesterday and went nuts trying to figure out what to play first! There are 150 wonderful songs in this book...all of which are old favorites. This is a large thick book, and it does not have a spiral binding, but it stays open easily on the music stand. The music is easy to read, and the arrangements are gorgeous. Lush harmonies complement the true-to-original melodies. I am a moderately advanced player, and found all the arrangements easy to interpret and execute quickly. A moderate level player would experience a lot of satisfaction with this book. I have an enormous collection of sheet music, but this book will be on my piano at all times, and I will likely buy a copy for my daughter for Christmas or her birthday. This is a LOT of really great music for a small price. I wish I had bought this book a long time ago.

This collection is substantial, and the songs truly are beautiful. I carry many of the songs with me to gigs, because these tunes are familiar to most people and I find that audiences love the "beautiful" music choices. I was especially pleased to find "Love, Look Away" and "You Are Beautiful" in the book, along with "Picnic," "Old Cape Cod," "Moonlight in Vermont," and "Love Is Here to Stay," all of which are perfect for background piano music in dining venues.

When picking up this book, I had no idea that it would emotionally impact me the way it has. This book inspired me take the jump towards having passion in living. I needed this book in my life, and I didn't even know it. I have read all of Brene Brown's books, but the message in this book has changed me more than all of her books combined. This book is a must read for readers of all ages! I wish there was a way for me to buy a copy of this book to hand out to everyone that I encounter on a daily basis. The message of hope through confusion is something that all humans need to read. Honest and raw in a true Jason Reynolds' way!

I don't understand the hype of this book...? I bought it because I was feeling sentimental and thoughtful. This seemed perfect. However, I was really confused about darn near everything that was written. It didn't make a lot of sense, and was really repetitive. I read the whole thing in LITERALLY 10 minutes or less, and will never look at it again. Soooo...there's my two cents.

I wish I could gift a copy of this book to everyone. Whether I know them or not. It's not just a letter from the author, it's an inspiring reminder to keep fighting for your dreams. To never give up, especially when things are tough. Find a passion that ignites you like nothing else and let it drive and propel you from the inside out. It's also a reminder that we are all human and flawed and we fail. A lot. But we can't give up. I loved this book. So much. It's one of those books that delivers hope concisely, powerfully, unconventionally, unapologetically, and honestly. The hope is bone deep. I will read it over and over again. I'm passing it on to my teenage son. And then to my husband. And then slowly, but surely, to everyone I know who dares to dream, and especially to those, like me, who are sometimes scared to. Or who forget that dreaming makes life endlessly worth the fight. Thank you, Jason Reynolds, for putting your heart in these pages, I think it reminds us how similar we all are. Hope, doubt, perseverance - they make us undeniably human and that's such a beautiful, messy thing.

About the Author

Joseph Campbell was an American author and teacher best known for his work in the field of comparative mythology. He was born in New York City in 1904, and from early childhood loved to read about American Indians and frequently visited the American Museum of Natural History, where he became captivated by the museum’s collection of totem poles. From those days onward, Campbell’s interest in mythology grew and deepened. He was educated at Columbia University, where he specialized in medieval literature, and, after earning a master’s degree, continued his studies at universities in Paris and Munich. Throughout his life, he traveled extensively and wrote prolifically, authoring many books, including the classic The Hero with a Thousand Faces, the four-volume series The Masks of God, Myths to Live By, The Inner Reaches of Outer Space, and The Historical Atlas of World Mythology. Campbell died in 1987. In 1988, a series of television interviews, Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth with Bill Moyers, introduced his views to millions of people.

I bought and read this book after hearing Adam Boyd speak at a recent industry training event in Austin, TX.I found this book to be an easy read, full of short summaries of about a dozen Sandler customers that the authors have worked with. What I valued most from reading this book is that it shows the success that is possible by following the Sandler principles, it has lead me to identify some of the causes of my own hindrances (self-doubt, for example) and a reminder that Sandler offers a proven process, and a process is what can help a person perform consistently. There is a saying often repeated in my office, "Put good people in a bad process, and the process will always win." This book showed example after example of how people can succeed by using a good process (Sandler) and how good people have failed by trying to move ahead without a process.

This book captures a lot of great wisdom and real life stories about how to use the Sandler sales system to prospect, qualify, and close new business successfully.I have been studying with Karl and Adam at Market Sense in Austin, TX and using the Sandler system for 3 years. During this time Adam Boyd has been my coach.Despite my baseline familiarity with the Sandler material I found a lot of great ideas in this book and found it very inspiring.You may be wondering, does this stuff really work? Here were my results...Pre Sandler:- $150-250k per yearPost Sandler:- 1st Year in Sandler - $1 M- 2nd Year in Sandler - $2M- 3rd year in Sandler - $1.5 mid-year/trending to $3MIt wasn’t always easy or comfortable but my rapid improvement evidences that the advice from Karl and Adam captured in this book really work. As Karl and Adam shared in the book, sales can be a daunting undertaking and I had to deal with call reluctance, head trash, self-limiting beliefs, and stressful moments when I screwed things up. This book talks about not just a "sales system", but a process to determine if what you have is a fit for a particular prospect. It is about doing a better job helping your customer and client by being honest with them and yourself. The different chapters, each, in their own way, help to take the pressure off "selling" and put the emphasis to understanding and helping. I particularly enjoyed Karl and Adam's list of the 20 most common self-limiting beliefs because it allowed me to ask myself, "how many of those self-limiting beliefs did I have before Sandler (15) and how many do I still possess now (2)?" There is always room to improve and their book will show you a path to improved sales, a more positive outlook and greater happiness.If you are in sales, this short and easy-to-read book is a must read. You won't regret it.

This book abounds with great, real life examples of key people in companies who needed to make changes to increase sales, face obstacles and succeed. It does not teach the in's and out's of the Sandler System, but does reveal some of the philosophy and principals on which it is based, fortified with real people in real situations.After reading this book for a short while I realized that my work in a non-profit, where services are given away, was actually sales and that I could get better at it.
